Rosslyn Jazz Festival - 9 Sept 2006

I went to the 16th Annual Rosslyn Jazz Festival this afternoon.  It was pretty hot sitting out there in the sun; however, the music was really great.  I listen to an innovative young pianist Hiromi from Japan.  She has several top selling Gold CDs out.

Family Visit with Opi and Omi

On August 9 2006, we had a nice surprise visit from Christine, Tanner and Sophia.  Played in back yard and had some fun.  Here’s a group picture by the Trellis that Opi and John constructed for Omi for Mother’s Day 2006.

Camping at Quantico - 15 July 2006

It’s really been hot and very humid today at Quantico. We did an early walk this morning and then stayed inside quite a bit. Had a bit of excitement mid afternoon when a very gusty thunderstorm blew in. We had our awning out and had to rush out and get it in before it blew away. Our neighbor had her awning out but did not know how to put it in and came over quickly asking our help. You should have seen us! The three of us were trying to hold down this awning that was trying to act like a big umbrella that had caught the wind was trying to turn itself inside out!! We managed to get it in but we were completely soaked doing so. We had a little cook out to celebrate our success and sat and watched the geese and a blue heron. Here’s a couple pictures we took.
